The Nile in Egypt

This is the geographical position of the Nile in Egypt... the green spots are the cultivated land located in the river banks. From Lake Nasser in the extreme south until the Mediterranean Sea in the extreme north, around 55.5 billion cubic meters of water flows in the river per year.

The question remains... where is the water coming from? Sudan? Or further upstream?

The mouth of the Nile

The Nile Delta (Arabic:دلتا النيل) is the delta formed in Northern Egypt where the Nile River spreads out and drains into the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the world's largest river deltas—from Alexandria in the west to Port Said in the east, it covers some 240 km of Mediterranean coastline—and is a rich agricultural region.

This is the end of the river, but where does it starts? What can we not see in this map?
